Marco’s Pizza launches innovative franchisee referral-reward plan

TOLEDO, Ohio—Marco’s Pizza has launched an innovative franchisee referral-reward plan to help it achieve its goal of 500 units by 2010.
According to a news release, the program is called Marco’s Out of Network Referral Program, and it centers on rewarding persons who refer potential franchise candidates to the company. Should the candidate become a franchisee, the person who made the referral will receive 30 percent of net royalties collected from that operation for three years.
“The result of open communications about our franchise development with our current franchisees has resulted in many of our current franchisees becoming our ‘brand ambassadors,’” said Jack Butorac, president of Marco’s Franchising. “The program is designed to encourage the public, to refer entrepreneurs to become franchisees. We are also rolling out a program for our current franchisees and employees to do the same.”
Marco’s currently has 150 units.
