Centrum Medyczne Damiana health center develops franchising chain
Pb:
The private healthcare center launches its first franchise outlet in Bialystok, eastern Poland. It is going to develop the chain in smaller cities.
Centrum Medyczne Damiana (CMD), the private healthcare center, has signed a franchise agreement with Medycyna, a company from Bialystok. On Thursday, the two companies will jointly launch a medical center in Bialystok. It will wear CMD brand and use CMD logo.
“A local businessman came to us. He wanted to launch a medical center. We offered our experience in running similar units and help while choosing the medical equipment whose acquisition we are partly financing. We also advised at staff training and deciding about the profile”, Robert Blaszczyk from CMD said.
In case of the first franchising partner, CMD gives up the entry fee. The owner of the medical center will pay several percent of his sales. The project is worth PLN 1.5m (EUR 378,000). CMD and its partner hope to regain the invested funds within three years. Now, CMD is looking for further franchising partners in middle-sized cities, including Bydgoszcz, Opole, Kielce and Plock.
“So far we have had only cosmetic centers, including Dr Eris, Dermika or Kolagena, dealing as franchises. No medical company has decided to adopt a similar model. Investment level, which is relatively high, is the main barrier”, Kazimiera Krawczk from the Franchise Development Agency said.
CMD has been operating since 1994. It has a hospital in Warsaw, a hospital with a healthcare center plus two specialized medical centers. It has over 2,500 surgery patients each year.
