Firm offers low-cost Internet cafe franchise in the Philippines

For 35,000 pesos, Filipino entrepreneurs can now start a one-computer Internet service that comes with other value-added services, such as voice over Internet Protocol, a local startup said.
Everything Online (EOL), a startup involved in developing backend systems for hospitals, has developed this service that hopes to allow local entrepreneurs to set up Internet-related services at lower costs, according to Macky Samaco, EOL president.
Apart from the usual Internet access service, the EOL “product” will come with a business software package that will allow franchisees to earn at least 6,000 pesos a month from selling electronic load, Internet access, and VoIP.
“We also have developed an e-learning package that will come with our packages,” Samaco added.
The local startup has partnered with the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., Microsoft Philippines, and CPC Edge Technology Corp., Asiantech for this product, added Samaco.Samaco said that the local startup
targets to hit 8,000 franchisees for the first year. Soft launched on March 17, 2006, EOL said that its low-cost Internet cafe package will charge as low as 700 pesos a month for one computer to at least 2,000 pesos for more than 5 PCs.Franchisees will also shoulder the cost of Internet service from PLDT.
The startup is eyeing families of overseas Filipino workers as potential franchisees, Samaco said.
