Bringing Cartridge World to Malta!

Jenni McCormick, 42, made the move to Malta in 2004 to set up the first Cartridge World store on the island and her husband, William McCormick, 48, joined her the following year.
The idea to become Cartridge World franchisees had originally come from a friend’s recommendation and when they decided to move to Malta, they immediately saw the potential that setting up a franchise on the island had.
Today, William and Jenni are franchisees for the San Gwann and Paola stores in Malta and live in the town of Qrendi on the island.
William says: “As franchisees, our aim is to be the best in the cartridge refilling business in Malta and to achieve this, we intend to maintain the basics of quality and service at all times, ensuring costs are kept in line with the industry at large.”
Both William and Jenni say that one of the best things about being a franchisee, is knowing that you are part of a global organisation that is the market leader in its industry. Another plus to being a Cartridge World franchisee is being your own boss but at the same time, knowing that you have the backing of Franchise Support should it be required.
Said William: “One of the biggest challenges we face as franchisees is making sure stock availability is maintained to ensure 100 per cent service at all times. Keeping cash flow on track is another challenge.”
Looking back over their time as franchisees, William and Jenni feel that their greatest achievement has to have been establishing the Cartridge World brand in Malta. Originally there was doubt about how successful the franchise would be on the island due to many other cartridge refilling businesses already doing exactly the same.
The McCormick’s would advise anybody interested in becoming a Cartridge World franchisee to research and understand their market and once up and running, ensure that a quality service is established right from the very start.
Looking to the future, William and Jenni’s hopes for the franchise are to see an increase in sales turnover and to also open another one or two stores on the island.
