The Winston-Salem-based company said it had settled a lawsuit brought by Sweet Traditions LLC, an Illinois franchisee, and that the case was dismissed with prejudice Aug. 28. The company said the settlement won’t result in any accounting charges for Krispy Kreme

Sweet Traditions, a financially troubled company that operates Krispy Kreme stores in St. Louis and Chicago, sued in July 2005 to force Krispy Kreme to continue to deliver doughnut mix and other supplies, though the franchisee owed Krispy Kreme money, according to news reports and filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The dispute between the two companies had gone into arbitration in November.
