Dixy Chicken hopes to spread wings in Brunei
Dixy Chicken – the largest halal fast food franchise in the world – was founded in 1986 by its current Chairman Amjad Ali and Current Managing Director Abid Ali.
The company’s principle belief revolves around serving only halal food, whether it be in the UK, Norway, Syria, Pakistan or India.
Today there are over 150 outlets spread across the globe – Brunei included – with a new store opening every month.
Area Manager for Asia and Europe region Jawad Syed explained about what led to the formation of this company.
Amjad Ali and Abid Ali were once Franchisees to a world leading fast food franchise with each owning six stores in London.
They proposed to the management of that franchise company the idea of serving halal chicken, but the idea was rejected.
Taking a strong stance, Amjad Ali and Abid Ali both decided to leave the franchise company. Entrusted with their strongly forged belief in halal food, they established the halal fast food franchise company now known as Dixy Chicken.
