What About International Franchisors?
You might be considering a set of networks. Among them, some are international. How to reach them? Can they be trusted?
An international brand which chose to develop in your country will have to choose between implanting a subsidiary and recruiting a master-franchisee to be in charge.
One of the essential elements proving a network’s quality lays in its adaptation to the country, which will often necessitate efforts and changes; but such changes are not inevitable.
The following are some concrete advices pertaining to the precautions to consider when engaging in a master-franchise:
* Engaging in a master franchise requires high levels of investment, competence, dynamic and caution. There are excellent opportunities, but they can only be considered by persistent, intelligent, and competent hard workers. You will have to fight. Let’s discredit the illusionary idea that it is a magic formula about which no one else has thought, and which will develop alone thanks to what the franchisor offers, to your opportunism, and to the franchisees’ credulity (who fortunately became more informed than before).
* Do not sign the contract with an international franchisor who appears powerful before having understood EVERYTHING in the contract, specially the part about training and assistance.
