Alamo Drafthouse To Debut In Dallas Soon

Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas — a theater/restaurant concept based in Central Texas — is ready to launch outlets for avid movie-goers in Dallas.
When traditional movie theaters faced flat movie ticket sales in 2007, Austin-based Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas experienced a 14 percent jump in same-store sales, the movie theater chain said this week.
With this in mind — and a belief that audiences are looking for movies in a casual dining atmosphere —Alamo Drafthouse said this week it plans to launch in the Dallas/Fort Worth area over the next three years. Six locations will open their doors between now and 2011, the company said. Nationwide, the company expects to have 30 locations by 2010.
