Education Company Seeks Minnesotans To Open Centers

Kumon, the world’s largest afterschool math and reading program, is expanding in 2009 and seeking professionals interested in opportunities to own a business as well as give back to the community.
Trevor Martin, Kumon’s franchise representative for the Twin Cities area, said the company is looking to expand across the state, especially in Hennepin and Dakota counties. Kumon will host free Franchise Seminars for individuals interested in opportunities in education. Participants will learn about the Kumon program and the fundamentals of franchising. Last year, Kumon signed 121 franchise agreements, which represents a 46% increase from 2007. Kumon projects 130 franchises for 2009.
