Firehouse Subs Expands To Indianapolis

Firehouse Subs is expanding into Indianapolis, with its first restaurant expected to open there this summer followed by as many as 27 more within seven years.
The Indianapolis expansion is the Jacksonville-based sub sandwich chain’s first new area this year. Despite a slowdown in the economy, the company opened 57 new stores in 2008, the second best year for new openings in its history. This year new stores open for less than a year have been performing at a level 10 percent to 15 percent above the chain’s average.
“With a Midwest appreciation for fresh foods and large portions, Indianapolis is the perfect place for Firehouse Subs,” said Don Fox, chief operating officer of Firehouse of America LLC, the company’s franchising division.
