East Coast Chain Foster’s Grille Will Open This Fall In Johnson County

Foster’s Grille, which QSR magazine listed among “Ones to Watch,” is entering the Midwest market with a location in Johnson County.
Area franchisee Tom Herhusky is in lease negotiations for his first location, which he plans to open this fall.
“I’m from the D.C. area and this was our favorite place to eat,” Herhusky said. “It’s really a simple concept with a limited menu — keep it fast, keep it clean and keep it simple.”
The East Coast chain is expanding quickly thanks to made-to-order burgers, grilled hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, salads, chicken wings, hand-cut French fries, fresh-squeezed lemonade, milkshakes and cake.
The operations have an open warehouse style with exposed brick walls, a stock car body, and vintage signs and mirrors, along with indoor and outdoor seating. Customers fill out their own order slip, circling toppings, before handing it to a cashier.
