Tasti D-Lite To Develop New York Metro Market

In the market where the frozen dairy dessert was born in 1987 and has built a cult following as the city’s favorite guilt-free indulgence, Tasti D-Lite inked an area development agreement for the New York Metro market. The agreement includes adding 35 franchised locations in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut over the next 10 years, expanding the brand’s dominant position within the light frozen dessert category in the region.
Spearheading this ambitious expansion is area developer MM Ventures LLC, a development firm comprised of financial professional Robert Gatti, Wealth Depot founder and CPA Daniel Gordon, and former attorney, investment banker and current Tasti D-Lite franchisee Lindsay Held. The trio has purchased the development rights to Manhattan, New York’s Westchester and Nassau counties, New Jersey’s Bergen, Essex and Passaic counties and Connecticut’s Fairfield County for the good-for-you frozen dairy dessert chain’s continued expansion. Held, recipient of the International Franchise Association’s Franchisee of the Year Award in September 2008 as well as Tasti D-Lite’s 2008 Franchisee of the Year Award, is especially confident in the brand’s future success in the region.
“New York City and its surrounding areas have been craving Tasti D-Lite’s expansion for years,” said Held, who owns two Tasti D-Lite shops and has plans to personally open four additional locations. “As we develop these new centers throughout the New York Metro area, the residents of these communities will finally have the creamy, delicious and good-for-you treats they have been enjoying primarily in Manhattan for so many years.”
