Businessman Buys Franchise For Popular Barbecue Chain

A young businessman with diverse holdings is adding a regional barbecue chain to the mix.
Edward Thibodeaux and his wife, Angelle, have purchased the franchise for VooDoo BBQ & Grill, a growing Baton Rouge-based chain that serves up brisket, ribs and other barbecued goodies.
The next question is where in Houma the restaurant will be placed.
“Basically, it’s a further diversification of our portfolio,” said Thibodeaux, 33, who runs an antenna-manufacturing business and owns an industrial radio supply store and a commercial real-estate holding company. “I was looking for something like a franchise to branch away from the types of businesses we currently have. Franchising is the safest way to do that, buying into a model that’s already proven.”
Thibodeaux, who has an accounting background, is general manager at Commander Technologies, a business founded by his father, Bill Thibodeaux, that manufactures products from marine antennas to canes for the blind.
He also owns Omni Electronics, an industrial electronics store and Infinity Properties LLC, a commercial real estate company. Full article.
