Tri Tax Franchise Is A Golden Opportunity For Recent Grads And Recession Victims

The soft job market is making it especially difficult for recent college graduates to find a job. Coupled with the staggering number of employees who’ve experienced recession-related layoffs, it’s easy to see why people are looking at new options. As a result, franchises like Tri Tax are booming.

Starting your own business during a recession may seem like an odd idea, but it’s actually one of the best times to do so. People still spend money in a bad economy, and with the vast majority of Americans needing to file a tax return each year, proven tax preparation franchises such as Tri Tax are recession-proof. “This last year has truly been amazing,” says Tri Tax President and CEO Carlos Marquez. “We’ve seen several franchisees add locations, move to larger offices, or go from a kiosk location to a full-service office. I truly believe that this recession has helped our company grow.”

Alberto Guerrero is among the new Tri Tax franchisees who have become a rousing success. After his post-college job search resulted in disappointment, a close friend and current Tri Tax franchisee introduced him to the company. “I was skeptical in the beginning,” he says, “but after I attended a Tri Tax conference and met Carlos Marquez, I discovered the potential of the tax industry.”

Alberto says his decision to open a Tri Tax franchise in Whittier, Calif., in 2008 has been rewarding both personally and professionally. “I really enjoy being able to properly prepare customers’ tax returns and educating them about the tax world. The biggest surprise, though, was realizing that through my Tri Tax business, I could make enough money during the tax season that I could stay with my family the rest of the year.”
