Starting your own business during a recession may seem like an odd idea, but it’s actually one of the best times to do so. Alberto says his decision to open a Tri Tax franchise in Whittier, Calif., in 2008 has been rewarding both personally and professionally. “I really enjoy being able to properly prepare customers’ tax returns and educating them about the tax world. The biggest surprise, though, was realizing that through my Tri Tax business, I could make enough money during the tax season that I could stay with my family the rest of the year.”
